Welcome to Scotty's Animals
I make videos about animal rescue, care and advice. I volunteer at the L.A. Guinea Pig Rescue
and specialize in bonding and adoptions. This page is dedicated to making sure your animals
have the best life possible. It's not all guinea pigs, I have a Cockatiel named B.B. & 2 fish tanks!

All of Scotty's Animals in one place!
Everything that I have listed here I personally recommend for my pigs at home and at the L.A. Guinea Pig Rescue!
The Snak Shak log is important for keeping hay off the ground, fresh and clean! Stuff it full of hay and pellets and lasts all day!
Water bottles that have long spouts and are easy to clean are my favorites, these are among the best! Don't forget a cleaning brush.
Ceramic bowls are a good choice, and these are cute well made and priced right! Get 2 in different colors.
A C&C cage can be made with grids and these I found are great! Box comes with enough grids to make a 2X6 C&C cage.
The best deals on coroplast (corrugated plastic sheet) are at your local home/hardware store go for 48" X 96"
The other cage set-up we recommend at the L.A. Guinea Pig Rescue is the Midwest Homes Guinea Habitat. It offers 8 square feet of space for your guinea pigs. Remember bigger is always better, and the Midwest can easily expand to 2 or 3 times it's size!

What are you missing? This is what we use at the rescue and what we recommend to build your cage.

I like treats that have good, simple ingredients that they eat everyday!
At the L.A. Guinea Pig Rescue, we use regular people nail clippers to clip guinea pigs nails.
If you are more comfortable with pet clippers, use those. We have Styptic powder on hand
to stop the bleeding if we clip too close. Don't worry, you can do it!
Hidey's help your piggies feel safe and secure. 2 exits are the best!
* I am NOT a VET. If it is a health emergency, please seek proper care from a trained professional. My advice is no substitute for MEDICAL CARE. I cannot

Having a good EMERGENCY KIT, and being familiar with what's in it, and how to use the items can be your saving grace in an emergency!
Skinnypigs1 is an amazing resource for ALL THINGS GUINEA PIG RELATED! If you're here, you probably already know about Skinnypigs1!
I have been given permission to post Skinnypigs1's Emergency Kit Video here>>> It presents all the things you should have (or aspire to have) in your emergency kit. I've tried to gather links to most of the items here, and found the best price.
Emergency Kit Video
These are most of the Emergency Kit items, plus some items that I think are important. If you watch my videos regularly, you probably be familiar with a lot of these things. So far, I have only gotten positive feedback about these listings here. They are great items to have in your piggy emergency or regular care kit. Keep watching my YouTube channel for more info about care and how to use the supplies listed. Thanks for your support!
1ml Oral Syringe
Ringworm is not a worm, it is a fungus just like "athletes foot" and is very common and curable. It can be serious if left untreated. Ringworm is also confused with Mange Mites. Scott explains the difference between mange mites and ringworm and shows examples of both.
5ml Oral Syringe

I love ALL animals and believe that they all deserve respect. The only animal I have ever had real trouble with is cockroaches. Ant invasions are usually weather or garbage related and the big American cockroaches only come in for a reason too. Its the small German cockroaches that can hitch a ride on a paper bag or cardboard box and they come in to stay and multiply. They infest a place and spread everywhere. I tried exactly EVERYTHING at Home Depot to get rid of them with no luck. A friend recommended Advion to me and within a week, my cockroach problem was gone! Now anytime I see someone buying roach stuff, I humbly recommend Advion. It is toxic to small pets but it can be applied in small doses in places your pets cannot reach. The roaches eat it, share it and the whole colony dies. Repeat in a few weeks incase any eggs hatch or stragglers remain. This works 100%
Struggling with Hay Allergies in the Animal Room, I asked what Air Purifiers you recommend. Levoit sent me the new Vista200 True HEPA Air Purifier - discount link: https://amzn.to/2lu6WKC Vista200 It's the updated version of LV-H132 and I like it.
Designed in California. 100% ozone free, does not use UV or ions which produce trace amounts of measurable ozone, a harmful air pollutant and lung irritant. Enjoy fresh air that’s completely natural and healthy to breathe
Small Pet Select was kind enough to reach out to me and offer this 15% Off Coupon for Scotty's Animals viewers!
They are a great local company that really cares about small animals!
Did you know that Small Pet Select donated $2,500 to the L.A. Guinea Pig Rescue to help with the #norcal700. That's the massive rescue that we took in and are still adopting guinea pigs from that rescue. I was able to meet them when they visited the rescue!
